KARACHI: Medical experts have suggested a complete lockdown in Karachi for 15 days in view of the rapid spread of Delta variants, saying that if the pressure in hospitals increases, a dangerous situation could arise.
According to details, Secretary General PMA Dr Qaiser Sajjad while talking to ARY News regarding the Corona situation in Karachi said that the delta variant is spreading very fast, the situation in India was in front of everyone, God willing, the situation in India is like Pakistan. I can too.
The Secretary General PMA said that people hugged and shook hands on Eid, SOPs were not implemented in cattle markets, suggestions were sought from the government, it was decided that stakeholders would be consulted.
Dr. Qaiser Sajjad while suggesting lockdown in Karachi said that there is only one solution, lockdown should be imposed in Karachi for 15 days, if the pressure in hospitals increases, dangerous situation may arise, there are many people who have not undergone the test. Follow up and get vaccinated.
He said that for the first time today 980 patients are in critical condition, if the number of cases is less then lockdown will not be required and if all businesses remain open then SOPs will have to be strictly followed.
The Secretary General PMA further said that people come to Karachi from other cities and from all over the world, the Punjab government has strictly implemented the SOPs, I appreciate the efforts of the Punjab government and the Punjab Health Minister.
Dr. Qaiser Sajjad said that with folded hands, I request Khudaira to follow SOPs, protest and open business and if SOPs are not followed, it will be an abuse.
On the other hand, Dr. Saeed Khan said that the government has also set up a mobile team for vaccination, people are still making excuses for vaccination, many steps have been taken in vaccination centers.
Dr. Saeed Khan further said that the situation in Corona is warlike and should be supported by the government. The fourth wave of Corona has not come yet. The fourth wave could lead to a situation similar to India.
