"I had my own mindset" says Mahwish Hayat.

When superstar Mahwesh Hayat talks about working in films across borders, she is describing her patriotism.

  In a recent interview with Deen Geo's Sixty, Mahwesh touched on how he turned down various Bollywood projects based on the story and the characters.

  "I got a lot of offers from Bollywood. There was a time when Pakistani cinemas were completely shut down, and like every other actor, I dreamed of working in films but sometimes the story did not affect me and sometimes the character.

  Explaining her mindset about giving back to Pakistan, Mahwesh said how she was never tempted to work in cross-border cinema.

  "I never thought that if I got a chance to work in Bollywood movies, I would definitely do it just because it is a Bollywood movie. I had my own mindset. "Honestly, Bollywood has never attracted me much and I think after the revival of Pakistani cinema, I have got a lot of opportunities and recognition here, so there is no need to go to Bollywood in search of work," he added.
