Annual matriculation examinations in Karachi have been postponed till August 8 while universities have also been closed.
According to a statement issued by the Board of Secondary Education, a lockdown was imposed in Karachi from July 31 to August 8 on the directive of the Sindh government due to the spread of corona virus, due to which matriculation examinations in the city have been postponed.
Chairman Board Syed Sharaf Ali Shah said that due to lockdown, the annual practical examinations of ninth and tenth class science and general group (regular) 2021 will now be held from August 9 to 17 under the new schedule.
He asked the heads of the affiliated schools to strictly adhere to the SOPs during the practical examinations and make it mandatory for students to wear masks, as well as to take care of social distance.

On the other hand, the Universities Board of the Sindh government has also issued a notification to keep all the universities in the city closed till August 8.
The notification said that due to the spread of Corona virus, all public and private universities, degree colleges and institutes will remain closed due to the implementation of lockdown by the Sindh government.

According to the notification, all examinations at university and college level from July 31 to August 8 have also been postponed.
