New Instagram features to protect children..

Facebook, the company that owns Instagram, announced three new features in a press release yesterday.

The first feature is that if any child 13 years of age or younger creates an account on Instagram, it will automatically be private, meaning that only other minors will be able to see the posts made on this account.

In addition, these posts will only pass through the eyes of adults who will allow this child (user) himself.

The second feature will make it more stringent to monitor suspicious activity on Instagram and prevent them from sending direct messages or DMs to minors.

The third feature will also limit options for advertising agencies so that children using Instagram receive only ads that are age-appropriate.

In another post linked to the announcement, Facebook's vice president of youth products, Pawni Dewanji, made it clear that artificial intelligence would also be used to determine the exact age of the account holder.
