The Election Commission has issued a show cause notice to Prime Minister Imran Khan for not holding intra-party elections.
The Election Commission sought a reply from the Prime Minister within 14 days.
The Prime Minister has been asked in the notice why the party's election symbol should not be withdrawn if intra-party elections are not held.
PTI was to provide details of intra-party elections to the ECP on June 13, 2021. Under the Election Act, all political parties are required to hold intra-party elections on time.
The notice said further action would be taken in case of submission of reply.
