The speeding truck went out of control and hit the sleeping workers, killing 18 people.

In Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, a speeding truck rammed a sleeping roadside worker, killing 18 and injuring 24.

 According to Al-Arabiya, the incident took place at Bara Banke, 30km northeast of Lucknow, where dozens of workers were sleeping under a damaged bus on the side of the road when a speeding truck overturned. As a result of the collision, 18 workers were killed and 24 were injured. The condition of most of the injured is also critical.

According to police officials, 16 workers died on the spot while two died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
