The police had registered a case No. 342/21 against accused Wajid Kashmiri under section murder, attempted murder and rape on the complaint of the victim's sister. After the case was registered, the police released photographs of the accused for his arrest and also sought help from the public. However, the accused handed himself over to the police, which is conducting further investigation.
The accused involved in the murder of a 14-month-old baby and his mother three days ago in Mahota Moira area on the outskirts of Rawalpindi was arrested by the police.
According to police sources, accused Wajid Ali Kashmiri introduced himself for fear of being killed by the police. The accused took Naseem Bibi Khatun to the desert three days ago, where she injured her 14-month-old baby and her mother after allegedly raping her.
The child succumbed to his injuries on the spot while his mother succumbed to her injuries at the Rawalpindi District Headquarters Hospital.
