Makkah: Preparations have started for the reception of Umrah pilgrims in Saudi Arabia, 200,000 rooms have been allocated for Umrah pilgrims in Makkah and 70,000 in Madinah.
According to details, preparations are underway to receive Umrah pilgrims at hotels in Makkah and Madinah. Hani Al-Amiri, a member of the National Committee for Hajj, Umrah and Pilgrimage, said in a statement that 200,000 rooms have been allocated for Umrah pilgrims in Makkah and 70,000 in Madinah. ۔
Officials said that the hotels and towers would be fully compliant with the hygiene regulations and the hotel would have staff to welcome each group of Umrah pilgrims while there would be separate rooms for isolating suspicious passengers.
The National Committee member said that it should be ensured that there are no more than 2 persons in any room.
It may be recalled that Saudi Arabia, while announcing the opening of Umrah for foreign pilgrims, had said that from 1st Muharram 1443 AH, foreign pilgrims will be allowed to perform Umrah.
Officials said visitors would arrive in Saudi Arabia under the SOPs, which would require both doses of the Saudi-approved vaccine.
It is to be noted that the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has not yet clarified the procedure for applying, the procedure in this regard will be announced soon.
